$1200 is much too expensive for a VM. There is one near me brand new unopened for $685. I'd probably go with a VM over a 2203 though.

Do NOT purchase a 2203 brand new. You can get an 800 head in GREAT shape for under a grand.

ebay and Reverb.com are my favorites. Tread carefully with Craigslist. There's accountability of sold goods on ebay and reverb. CL, not so much.

Is there a huge difference between 2204 and 2203? Besides the wattage

Some would say it's negligible- there's members here who swear by them. I know they do breakup relatively quick, which my be a good thing depending on it's applications.

Back to the original question. The VM does much, much more than the 800. I had both... And the VM stayed. But at $1200 is just too much.

Well im sure you guys obviously know what type of sound i go for. I was looking into the VM because it seems to be different from what i have. I already have 2 Slash model amplifiers. So I want to change it up. I love the way both the 2203 and the VM sound.

    But here...

I love the sound of the VM he gets out here. This is what started getting me to look into the VM.

What you need to understand though is that's the tone that SLASH get's from the VM, it may be a completely different experience for you.

I understand that 100% No one will ever get "Slash tone" besides Slash i guess you can say. What i'm saying is what got me into the Vintage Modern was that video! Until a couple years ago before i bought my JCM Slash, i was going out and buying a VM. But then i seen the JCM Slash this and that, and i knew right then and there the Jubilee is what i wanted. But the VM is different i feel. I've played through a VM before but it was at GC so i only had little time with it. But i remember from that little time, i loved it. And its an amp you can experiment with.

And we all have our own opinions, different left and right hands, different ears, the sounds we like etc. So i feel VM would be best because it would be different for me and plus i love the way it sounds.

I just looked on two sites. B-stock. Running for 1300-1400. Guitar center has one used in a California store. And none on ebay.
