HI i got some pretty cool news for myself ,i finally got a slant cab for my half stack ,so now the 3 pieces are this :
    1.jcm 800 2210 100 watt head(signed by tommy chong )
    2.4x12 1960bv cab
    3.a jcm 900 4x12 slant cab
so no more mismatches right? cabs get set to mono 16 ohm and the head goes to 8 ohm and that's it ? how about the 2 different types of speakers? the vintage straight cab has those vintage speakers in it and the jcm 900 has the g12t-75 . both cabs have wheels and the wheels on the slant should line up fine with the wheel wells ,or dugouts or wheel recepticles whatever they r called ? it's a little beat up but i can glue tape and paint the tolex back together like i did with the vintage cab . oh the best part the final slant cab cost $152.00. anyone know where the g12t-75's were made? china or england?

Enjoy It! Seeing your pics I think all it's made in England. You connect It correct, both cabs at 16Ohms to the amp 8 ohms speakers outputs.

    Good news indeed!
Lotsa pic's but not seeing signature through the weed lol

Correct, Full stack using both cabs with the 100w heads impedance switch set to 8ohm.

Is your vintage straight cab with the vintage speakers wired 16ohm 100w? - Treat both cabs as 100w.
The stereo switch on the JCM 900 cab uses 150 a side at 8ohm.
Yes, The JCM 900 1960 Lead cab set to MONO switches the cab to 16ohm 300w.

    100w 16ohm + 300w 16ohm = 200w 8ohm capacity

Rock those nice Gibson's! Happy cranking & congrats on your score!

^^ Actually the BV cab should have the G12 Vintage speakers rated at 70 watts each. 8 * 70 = 560 watts power handling.

stacked foto coming soon ,i have to pick it up and get someone to help me stack it in my room or the garage : (
so the jcm 900 = 300 watts ,the 1960bv = 280 watts ,will both play nice together?

They'll work together just fine. One may be a LITTLE bit louder than the other, depending on speaker sensitivity.

If the speakers in one cab are rated 100 dB sensitivity (100 dB @ 1 watt @ 1 meter) and the ones in the other cab are rated at 97 dB sensitivity,
then at any volume level that one will be 3 dB quieter.

As for patching the tolex, if you can lay your hands on a small piece, you can splice a patch to the cabinet fairly easily. Cut out a piece that's a little bigger than the area to be patched. Staple it down over the area to be patched, so it doesn't move. Use a fresh razor blade to cut through both the new and the old layers at the same time, and cut the shape of the patch you want. When you've gone all around it, pull the staples, remove the new tolex, peel out the damaged tolex, clean the wood, position and glue down the patch in its new home. It should be an exact fit if you kept the razor straight and vertical in the cut all around. If you darken the wood with a black permanent marker, around the edge, before you glue in the patch, it'll make any open seam invisible at any distance.

    ha, The sig!

nah, not disappointing, they're great! (missed it glancing at the thumbnail)

okay cool! Then the 1960bv = 280 watts as Kinkless Tetrode posted. You are in great shape!

    Yes & yes ;-)
Don't get hurt. Wait for help, and let's see it after the official stack!

that's pretty funny ,i wanna see it stacked too trust me .
did you notice the joint underlining his name?
seller of the head told me he (tommy)requested specifically a jcm 800 for his comedy show and the owner of the club knew the seller and he(the seller) lent it to him and he(tommy) signed it after the show .

    Great tip!:agreed:

If you run your marker over the cut edges of the Tolex it will also hide the white fibers of the cut and keep it out of sight.

I heard you got a Marshall stack

Cork them ears and brace your back

Crank them knobs until they crack

Give the crowd a heart attack
