I like reflectors or witch hats on a V
I had a 60's V with witch hats ...pencil neck though . Jimi's painted V had witch hats

I believe Petty's 70's V is in a Hard Rock somewhere . I'd like to get a look at it
Looks to me like he had speed knobs on it, which look totally wrong IMO

With you on V's.... own an '83 Korina and a 75 natural. Love them both... used to have a Lonnie Mack... one of the few of all guitars that have passed through my hands that I seriously miss.

Let's try this again: You're pointing out the fingerboard raised above the body. Are not virtually all of the Gibson Flying Vs like that?

My Flying V has seen a lot of action. It survived a riot I started at a lesbian coffee shop gig back in 2000. It has survived my daughters cat knocking it over on the cement when he was strumming the strings. It finally had the final blow when my in laws knocked it over on a padded carpet and the neck shattered. I ordered a new neck on ebay for 25 bucks and went to bolt it on. Stupid me didn't realize the new neck was a 22 fret and the old one was a 24 fret. Luckily my dad was able to cut the last two frets off the old neck and glue it to the end of the new neck and get it all in place. To my surprise not only did this make the scale length correct but the two last frets are fully usable which I did not expect. I think my dad should be a guitar tech after all the stuff he has fixed for me...lol
