The serial number starting with "2" indicates circa 1969...

Blackbacks first showed up in 1975.

Without detailed pictures, its worth anywhere from $400 on up,
depending on the condition of the cabinet cosmetics and structure, casters, grill, speaker cones, etc...

Post some clear pics of every angle, inside and out, with speaker frame numbers, etc.

Then it is still only worth what someone will pay.

Killer info, worth a gigantic bump. So, a 1960B checkerboard with plastic handles and without corner protectors should be from between 1971 and 1972/1973 roughly? So, those must have had the T1221 greenbacks with pulsonic cones. I have one in sight, and even a pair of metal handles from an Orange 1971 cab to fit it with.

Speakers were dating from October 1971. Rola T1221 greenbacks. Birch back plate, plastic handles and no corner protectors.

Don't think those will fit on a Marshall cab - I know the handles of the same period that Carlsbro used doesn't fit on a Marshall cab, I doubt those Orange will either - you would have to drill new holes etc. for them to fit.

Sounds like a nice cab. 71 was an odd year for the different transitions, and the Celestion speakers were funny too - doesn't seem to be any ED or FD dated greenbacks out there, but tonnes of DD. but yeah plastic handles and check grill with no corner protectors is usually late 71 or 72.

Pretty sure the vintage metal handles cannot be switched for the plastic ones. This is why scumback sells the repro metal handles to upgrade plastic handle cabs. Slightly different fit. Also you might struggle to fit orange handles onto a Marshall cab anyway without cutting out a bit more of the woodwork. They are the same on the outside yes, but the bolt that runs through the back is different, a little bigger on non-marshall brands, and usually requires a slightly bigger cut making in the wood, or you could hack saw off the end of the bolt instead. Doesn't look much but can cause problems:

I’m glad somebody was finally brave enough to ask this question. I had always wondered how to date a Marshall cab but realized my neighbors that I haven’t ran off yet would start talking about me. It’s 2020, they need to accept this.

But I have done stranger things. I did recently buy a TSL of unknown origin or condition just to tinker with

A man can love his 4x12! Stop staring at me
