    Hi!

I purchased this cabinet ~10 years ago from a guy at my church. He had been a guitarist in a bunch of old hair metal bands on shrapnel and filled-in for Testament for a while in the 80s. This was a vintage cab according to him. I think he said 1960. He had the matching straight cab which sounded great and sold me this one for $400.
I’d like to date it finally just out of curiosity.
He stated that the Celestions were replaced in the 80s. And the serial number dates them to ‘78.
There is a number inscribed on the marshal sticker “4825”.

I have pictures but have not been registered long enough to be allowed to upload them or something. I can provide them if you let me know.

Unless you can find a way to upload photos we will struggle to date it.

Speaker date code LN = Nov 1979

Apart from the wiring mod to the back panel it looks like a mostly original and nice looking cab. They are getting harder to find in original condition thesedays.

Nicecabinet. I paid a bit more than that in the early 2000s. I kept mine over 15 years. Those g12-65s are arguably some of the best hair-rock speakers ever made. The sound of 80s metal and 90s punk.

Awesome cab - love the basketweave. I have two black cloth B cabs from ‘82 both with original G12-65’s. Play my ‘89 2210 through them and they are my favourite drivers!!!

Basketweave comes in two versions salt n pepper or cane. Both fade.
We could do with a how to date Marshall cabs sticky. Says he, smiling at Bygone tones, as he has all the pics!
