I am looking to replace my G-Major 2 in my JVM's loop.
Slight bit of downsizing since the noise gate quit working on the G-Major.

Anyone try a Headrush unit JUST IN AN AMP LOOP?

Not looking for the 4-cable method...not looking to use the cabs, amp sims...or the drives.
I just want to plug it in the amp loop for the time-based effects and noise gate.

Need something that has MIDI out to control the JVM.

Tried the TC Nova (that thing sucked tone bad in my JVM)
The Line 6 HX Effects is kind of a contender, but I don't like that the left most buttons are reserved. I know I'll inadvertently activate the looper or tuner when I don't intend to

I do a ton of pedalboards that do all of those things you want …… I’m just not a Modeler …… Read That The Kemper Stages are falling apart in live use

    Tried the pedal board route.
Too limiting for what I need without having duplicates of everything...
Object here is to minimize cables, power supplies, and crap on the floor.

Can’t help …… No Modeling for me brother ……
A well built board can do everything I need with no more cable runs than any “Do Everything DSP” unit ..

The HX effects sounds good as an alternative, but the touch display of the Gigboard would be useful.

6 patches to a bank with the HX! And the effects list looks more extensive.

Far more options on the back of the HX too. If you just ran it in the loop, that would leave you 2 extra send/returns for and other pedals you might want to use.

With the Gigboard you are still paying for a load of amp, cab, OD sims you will never use!

If it was my choice I would look at the HX. You would soon get used to the F/S layout, especially as the JVM is random patch access, unlike the DSL MIDI switching (i.e. repeated 4 channel switching options).

    Never actually tried either though.

I just picked up the Line 6 HX and really liking it. Doing the 4CM and sounds as good as my pedals to me. lots of effects and patches to play with. I like that you can change patches or do snapshots of patches and also set it up like a pedal board and turn off and on each effect.

I have both Helix LT and an FX-8, I would say the Axe FX are the best but harder to run. I may be selling my FX-8 if your interested PM me. (It's just like new) I don't care for the amps part of the Helix but it seems to work good.
