I've always wanted to get a Vox Ac30 or Ac15. I was messing around on Sweetwater and I see they have the new head versions with the built in attenuation. They have a deal going where if you buy one before Oct 3rd they will give you a $100 gift card if you get the Ac30 or a $50 if you get the Ac15. I don't really need one, but I figure if I'm going to get one now would he a good time seeing I could land a gift card as well and use it for a pedal, strings, etc... I may call my sales engineer before the weekend and see what the bottom line best price he could do.

Anybody here play one of these and if so, good or bad?

No, but I want to really... really badly.
Ever since I spent a long weekend alone with the new AC10c1, I've been in love with that Vox thang. I has me super interested in the AC15 handwired combo, but I'm guessing the regular AC15 or head would suffice.

I got an idea, be my guinea pig. :fingersx:

Seriously though, what cab/speakers do you have to play an AC head through?

Lol, I may end up being just that. If I get one I'm leaning towards the Ac30. It has an effects loop where the 15 doesn't.

As far as the cab, I'd use my Marshall 1960AHW with G12H-30's

I've tried the 15 watt. Its plenty loud for 15 watts!
It sounded excellent. A lot of weight to the sound. It didn't sound cheap a nasty-put it that way.

    Old thread i know.

I got the AC15ch and Vox V212C cab a few weeks ago.

The attenuator works great, can´t say it Colors the sound.

I use to have AC15C1 and the reason that I sold it was that I could almost never play as loud as was needed to get it in the sweet spot.

In 0,15 watt, I can at home push the tubes so it sounds incredibly good, master on 12 and the volume of 3 a clock (normal channel) and my wife don´t complains

1,5w i use in small bars and others places, and it can get very loud.

15w i haven´t use that much yet, but it sound great

Since my last post I bought the AC30 head. It sounded good but I had some unexpected expenses come up shortly after and I had to return it. I plan on getting another one sometime down the road.

I wish VOX would reissue the old hand-wired AC1O 2x1O combo. Please, VOX... Just do it!

I had this rig until recently. Ballsy amp. Great tone. Attenuator worked great. Very vintage tone. Sold it because I thinned the amps out. A forum member picked it up.
