Hi all, I've already posted on here a couple of times about the SV20h and an old 4x12 of mine. I've just recently got back into playing guitar after hardly picking one up for around 5 years... I got more into producing jungle music during this time and built a sound system but this year have become pretty disillusioned with the whole thing and sold the sound system and shipped out my tracks to a label for unprofitable but cool vinyl release. I started out playing guitar about age 5-6 and had classical lessons for a few years as well as playing with older kids of 14-16 in rock bands associated with the local music centre run by Berkshire young musicians trust. Great fun. I saved up my pocket money for a couple of years and got myself a 1994 Fender Mexican Squier series tele which I still have and love. I probably bought it in 1995 or 1996 new. Must get round to giving it some new pickups and electronics and a general make over. I played a lot from age 11 to 23- first RHCP stuff, RATM, Primus, then later more jazz oritented stuff on my early 80s jap Epiphone emperor. The amount of time I've played guitar in my life is probably why I've been able to reclaim and improve on my original skills over the last two months at age 30. Had blisters initially and some grumbles from wrists and fingers but I'm loving it. Having sold all but a small PA which fits in my car I decided to treat myself to some pedals and sensible amps... my gear list so far is: Fender USA standard strat in sunburst which is my main guitar Fender mex tele squire series. My first electric guitar and still plays probably better than the strat. 1981 Epiphone emperor amps award sessionette 75 2X10 marshall 2525h matching silver 2X12 horizontal cab marshall sv20h (currently being shipped) Unknown old 4X12 which I'll soon sell JCM900 4100, just serviced and for sale pedals: fulltone clyde deluxe dod fx65 boss ds2 boss ge7 for a bit of front end clean boost marshall ED-1 TC electronic delay EH qtron + danelectro wasabi delay (really like it, shame about the crap build quality) I'm no virtuoso player. Got a lot to learn and re-learn though it's nice to find that my ear has improved despite not playing guitar for years. I basically noticed I was often feeling a bit miserable, had some talking therapy and realised that I was lacking a real time creative outlet. Once a guitarist, always a guitarist/ musician I think. I've treated myself also to the amazing slow downer. So far I've worked my way through all john frusciantes live sheddy solos with RHCP and will shortly get stuck into Hendrix at the isle of wight. I've also learned little wing in its entirety to play with the band as I think it's sort of a right of passage haha. Hours of fun without having to rely on anyone else (a band), though I have joined a band and have a gig tomorrow evening Otherwise, I enjoy modifying and fixing cars and surfing. That's me. I've had some great help from this forum already in the two threads I;ve posted elsewhere and look forward to helping others on here with what knowledge I have. Great forum Cheers!
