Welcome aboard new MF'r! Congrats on uour new amp, JMPs are simply the best IMO. I have an 80 and a 79 2204. If the main caps have not been changed I would suggest it.

thanks for the comments. I believe the head has been recently serviced from a tech out of Nashville. I bought the jmp off of a sessions musician. the story is, he bought it off of Doyle Bramhall about 12 years ago give or take a year. I don't know that to be a fact but it sounds good, so I will embellish lol. I love the tone, I'm looking for a cabinet right now. my belief from all the reading I have done is to go with a mid 70s 412 cabinet with the 25w greenback celestians to maximize the tonal capabilities of this amp head. any input would be appreciated. musical influence the black Sabbath, skynyrd, zeppelin, acdc, cry of love, nugent and such. you get the drift.

Good deal on that JMP I'm envious! I couldn't find one I could afford so I got my hands on a 1982 2204 that kicks ass. Greenbacks sounds pretty good but I find I like G12T75 that comes stock in Marshall cabs better, plug your amp into any stock Marshall cab and see what you think. Welcome to the forum, post a picture of that amp!

this is my head, looking for a cabinet to go with it. it's a 76 jmp 50 watt markII. it is in a live in case, supposedly has been most of it's life.

It's not that loud compared to my old 79 peavey mace, but the tone is incredible!
