I have the chance to buy a “like new” Marshall MG100HDFX full stack for $350.00 is this a good deal?

I’m mainly a synth player but I dabble with rhythm guitar plus I was trying to make it easier for friends to plug-in if they brought their own guitar, so they wouldn’t have to carry their own amps...

I’ve read these amps “suck” and how the original buyer’s can’t get rid of them fast enough…

I’m not an Amp Snob; I just wanna have a little fun and jam with my buddies, none of us are pros. Is this a good deal? Thank you in advance!!

That sounds like a good deal to me. I assume you have no intention to record with it, so for a bit of kit for yourself and visiting guitarists, I would probably go with it (but haggle).
You get a series/parallel FX loop too, so you could run a small portable tube amps pre-amp into the FX return for different (better) preamp tones.
Keep it in good condition and the resale should be similar if/when you decide to trade up to a proper tube amp.
Used half stacks are going for around £150 in the UK at the moment.

I would agree, good deal. I would also add: if you are "used to" the sound of a Marshall tube amp (and using one); you may not like the tone as much. If the aforementioned does not apply, then you may very well like what you hear. These amps are awesome for beginner to intermediate players that have not yet settled in on a tone chase. I think if you consider what the amp is, it really doesn't sound that bad.

Welcome to the forum new bro.
    Yes it’s a good deal.
I bought a half stack, 2 years later we sold it for the same price I paid for it, you just don’t turn everything to ten with this amp.
Pick it up and your buds that play it will all get a kick out of it.
    I sure did!
    Cheers Mitch

Excellent post, many just can’t get a decent tone from a SS amp.
My grandsons buddy, who bought the amp is still rocking it and in great fashion!
    Cheers Mitch

Welcome to the MF and as they all are saying it’s a good deal for the whole set up...but IMO they sound better than they look, it’s one dam ugly head. Just bend it over when giving it some hard licks:D

I took a good look at the head after I read this Dog and you are absolutely right!

The gold face takes up almost half of the front of the head, and the Marshall script is too big for the size of the head,....

.... but I don’t want to be too critical, the sound is the important thing. :)

That may even sound pretty cool with your synth! Just be careful at cranking the bottom end/bass.

And Oh Yeah, :welcome: To The Marshall Forum!

Did you get it @Michael Jeffrey Butler?
That pic of you rocking out with the MG stack looks to be in a different room to the advert pic in post #1.
