I've been using a POD HD Pro X for a long, long time but I realize at this point I've outgrown it. Finally tired of fighting some of the units strange sounds. And of course because it is not a real amp, it has a little bit of dryness and sterility which is always present.

I made an offer on a DSL5C. This amp did not exist when I was trying amps many years ago in my other apartment. But I think this will work out splendidly. And unlike the DSL15C this one has an effects loop.

If anyone has one of these please post your experiences with it.

Yup, those are nice little amps @357mag, but if I were looking for a nice small Marshall with a loop....I’d get a DSL5cr.

    For three reasons

    1) Reverb,...always nice to have in a small amp
    2) Better voicing imo....

    3) This is a big one for me....

...you get a gain knob with the green channel with the Dslcr,...you don’t with the 5c. If you’re only concerned about cleans in the green channel, then #3 reason really doesn’t mean much. But if you’d like a bit of hair on your cleans, a gain knob in the green channel is optimal.

The green channel on the Dsl5c is pretty clean, and some folks say that you’ve got to almost dime it if you want a little breakup.

Having a gain control on the green channel would be a must for me. The 5cr is just a better amp than the 5c imo....Best of luck!

The one I made an offer on is the DSL5CR with reverb. I'm not a big fan of reverb but it will be there if I want to use it.

Oh, ok, the thread says Dslc so that’s what I thought it was. Good luck getting it, great little amp!

I recommend the 5cr, I like mine a lot. It being 5 watts lets you really crank it too without making you go deaf.
