Okay people, I have $2k to spend on a new guitar that I don't need. The question is do I wait for Gibson to make a run of left handed guitars (they told me they plan to) as I want a Les Paul Classic in black, or should I just put together a Warmoth that I can build exactly as I like. To me it seems the main differences are obviously bolt on vs. glued in neck. If I do a Warmoth I will make it a triple humbucker body with some funky wiring, birdseye maple neck with rosewood fretboard. I would go with mahogany for the body with a quilted maple top. Probably do a black dye finish. The Gibson would most likely get all of the electronics changed out anyway. I'm really impressed with the quality of the Warmoth neck I just put on the mexi-strat. If their bodies are as nice it could be a tough call. Watcha think? .
