Yes it truly is, this is the third generation so to speak if you count me, he is also a guitarist, but until he finds a drummer better than what he can do,
he will continue to do both, my son Jerry was also a drummer, who played with me in the early 90’s before I quit playing for the second time!
    Cheers Mitch

Mine is a Tribute and i like the neck its still a heavy neck like every other SG but its got a nice width and feel. The sound IMO is right on par with my LPs

I like the natural color of mine

Funny you would say that, because I've been playing mine exclusively for the past week or so, oddly enough!

I wanted one the first go round but didnt have the money so I went for the faded SG, turns out I love the faded but thought it would be fun to have a Standard so fast forward 15 years later I got one now and got it at an incredible deal used. I figure this will be my retirement guitar some day its got bling and full of tone and light weight! So yeah this is the guitar I grab the most right now. :yesway:

I actually got a 57 Classic Plus for the bridge but found I was pleasantly surprised by the stock 57 Classic in the bridge I may not even swap them out. What do you think of them?

I have played and owned just about everything, starting about 1968....I love guitars.....but these days the SG is my absolute favorite. I guess I got old and grew into SG's, because I didn't always like them so much. But they feel great and work for me now. Every guitar is not for everyone, I don't get along with Strats at all, though I understand their place in history.

I’ve had an SG for over 15 years now and it’s finally for sale! I just hardly ever play it! It’s a 2004 and I guess that year SGs came with big, chunky, baseball size necks!

I just never liked to play it because of the huge neck profile.

    2004 Gibson SG Standard,.....

My 2018 SG Std has the asymmetrical slim taper neck. Love it

Here are a couple of clips I posted on YouTube with my new 2019 Standard. I've always deep down been a Les Paul fan, but ever since narrowly escaping a bad car accident, it's way more feasible for me to play an SG. The stock 490 pickups are gone and what you're hearing here is the Motor City Afwayu pickup set. Only other modification I'm going to do is put an Emerson harness in and she's good to go. Maybe it's the pickups, maybe it's me, but I find this guitar far from being a one trick pony. And, this thing just has an attitude to it. Not sure what that even means, but it's there. And I fuckin love it.

She's a beauty! The big neck is why I don't play my Zach Myers SE guitar anymore. Great instrument but in the end, I just couldn't see myself playing it when I'm an old wanker in my silver years. Have you had the chance to play one of the 2019 models? One thing that concerned me was whether or not there would be any dry sticky spots on the neck and to my relief there wasn't one. Not one. Just nice and smoothly finished all the way. Had a Silverburst Custom and it had the driest and stickiest neck ever. Speaking of the neck, my 2019 has the slim taper, complete antithesis of baseball bat but not Jackson ESP skinny either. Just perfect, for me that is

I am a Les Paul guy and always I paly and record with Les pauls.

I have only one SG 61 Reissue and I feel very happy with it. The sound is very good, a bit thinner than the Les Paul some more agressive in certain pints. For me it is very comfortable and the neck shape is ok.

    A lot of sustain.

Ive got a '71 SG Special I bought new. I havnt played it for years because as Ive got older I find it hard because of the nut width.I recently bought a 2009 standard that had never been played and the neck is fantastic.Fitted a pair of Bareknuckle Abraxas and Im happy!!

My '18 came with those '61 pups stock. I swapped them out for the hot ceramic set that came in my '01 LP Classic. More fun. Last week I put the 57 Classic and Classic + in it from my '13 LP Signature T. Holy crap it sounds fantastic now! I love it. Highly recommend putting the plus in the bridge.
