The Limited Edition guitar replicates, in exacting detail, the axe Hendrix used for his legendary performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Woodstock.

At this price point, I think I would like the decoder ring as well.

And to think I was stupid enough to spend $6,000 less.

    What was I thinking?

    Only $6900.00?

My wife gave me this for Christmas in 1998.

    Jimi Hendrix Strat.jpg

    Along with my '74:

    Tone Master Rig.jpg

That '97 Jimi Tribute Stratocaster cost $600.00.

I've seen the '97 go for $2800.00.....................yeah, what fool paid that much?

Anyway, my '97 Jimi was traded this week, along with my '96 Gibson Firebird V to get this:

    2001gibsonwalnut335a.jpg

Well, $6900.00 is more than 10 times the cost of the '97 Jimi.

IMO, I got a great deal.

BTW, I also recieved a new EH Oceans 11 pedal and $80.00 along with the 2001 Gibson Figured Walnut ES 335.

After 50 years, Jimi is still making $'s for his estate.

$6900 is a lot IMO. I have two custom shop limited editions Stratocasters and they are truly amazing guitars. I bought used in the high $2000s and they are worth every Penney.

I’m confident it’s a great guitar. They made a 68 strat replica of Blackmore’s machine head, made in Japan era strat a few years ago. Same thing, crazy price and so few made its impossible to find one used for a good deal. The premium for the signature custom shop guitars are not worth it to me. No knock on the guitar.

I saw one he smashed at the Meadowlands during the Perfect Strangers Tour on eBay recently......guy wanted $25K. Suddenly the Hendrix guitar looks like a bargain.

I missed that one. Did they ever release it?

This is the one I’m talking about. Typically I see them between $5K (used) and $7K (new). They rolled Y’barra out of retirement to personally hand wind the pickups.

My target price is $3K. I will have to wait.

    I was guessing more like 15k. It's a bargain.

I could be wrong, but most musicians, unless famous uber wealthy ones or doctors or lawyers with plenty of disposable cash, will not buy anything over $6k.

My forearm kept messing with the slider switch and pots.

    Cool sounding guitar.

    Very unique.

    Very trophy case.

It cost $600.00 new in 1998.

    Jimi Hendrix Strat.jpg

    I'll stick with my '74.

It was $250.00 new in 1975.

Strats cost $600.00 to $1300.00, any more is just hype. Jimi wouldn't have bought that shit. You just can't do anything to an assembled kit guitar to justify it costing more.

IMO, Jimi would have loved a James Tyler or Suhr.
