Can this amp do a JCM800 or Plexi? I've never heard a video of a 5150 that I liked, mostly because they are playing modern metal with them, but I recently saw a vid of EVH playing one and it sounded very brown. Anyone got any experience with these EL34 5150s? Sure would be a versatile amp if so...

following. this amp is in my wishlist for a while.

I've tested a few times, but always looking for high gain.

    Start the reactor... Free Mars!
It has more stages than 800 or plexi. Probably twice as many...

Ampsci you are biased toward fender !
But I had my eye on one before I bought the lunch box lbx and when I came back some ass bought it! It is versatile. Just because it has 3 channels , clean is clean and two levels of overdrive. I never owned one because I was to slow . Lol

I’ve had the 6L6 and it’s damn awesome, amazing crunch. I thought the EL34 version sounded more fizzy, just my opinion.

    So, a 5150 does not enough gain/distortion?

I'm curious about these as well. I had the 100 watt Stealth and wasn't impressed. People keep telling me the 50 watters are the way to go. Keep us posted please.

It's too Fucking hot of an amp.

I love his 412 cab the 5150 3. Best cab I've ever owned.

I've played the amps. Not the Stealth though. Too much for me to manage. A beast!

After you tweak the front end, this is what makes the EVH 5150 III EL34 come alive.

The more volume, the less reso. Less volume, more reso.

Agree with the Resonance advice—I literally took the amp out of the box at practice this am and tried it out. Stayed on the Blue channel the whole time which is what I figured I’d like after playing several 6l6 models. At the end of practice I turned the reso control down and it def cut down on the ‘thump’
