Hi, wondering if this cab would be safe to run with a 1987x? It has two G12H Anniversary 30 watt speakers.

I was surprised that this 60 watt cab is specifically matched to the 5150 50 watt head. I would have thought a little more power handling capacity from the speakers would make sense to be safe. It got me wondering whether I could safely run 50 watt Plexi into it. I would be cranking it regularly.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!

Not really a good idea to run a dimed 50w plexi into a 60w cab .

Nope I wouldn't either. Not sure why they match that with a 50 watt head.

I have the 50w and the matching cab. I'm not using it as loud as I should be using, but the thing works great.

The cab sounds great. I have not run a plexi into it, but it is loving my Mesa V 25.

I've been running my major through it. I put the master volume around 30W, pass it through a weber mass and play it. I think I'm not going to blow any speaker with this setup. for now its better, and cheaper, than buying a 4x12 (my 4x12 is in brazil).
