The STICK. I believe Stick was an ET that took form of a stick standing in his front yard.

Anyway I do not want to get the thread too off kilter.

    I
    once
    got SO pissed
off at work that I walked out...
...and never went back. Been self employed ever since, now two decades and counting.

Working for dah man is grossly over-rated, and life is too damned short to take that shit.

Sounds like we have something in common.
But I did find a much better place to work since then.

I did this once too, years ago. Just left. No regrets. You're absolutely right; life's just too short.

I ran into a former boss at the car wash last week. He used his position to redecorate his office and make sure he had a nice new pickup to ride around in, always putting me and others at risk because he was trying to do everything "under budget". He walked up to me, "Hi Biddlin, How are you doing? You're looking great." I just stared for a second or two and asked, "Do we know one another?" :)

I got out of Management some years ago but I know what turns certain people into thankless @ssholes. Usually it's frustration with not knowing what you are doing. Sometimes the person is just a jerk and takes it out on everyone around him. My current Superior is a thankless dolt who couldn't "Manage" his way out of a wet paper bag BUT he's a supreme rump swabber to his boss which keeps him employed. I have never heard more hare brained ideas come out of someones mouth than I have his. I am just biding my time now until I move cross country.
