    everywhere you wanna be.
epi is one company where you get what you pay for PLUS.
ive played many that if your eyes were closed you would
think you were playing a guitar 5x the price.

Mine had Gibson humbucker pups in her... which didn't do it for me, so some Z-90's went in...
Scott over in Bakersfield was kind enough to wrap 'em in a tortie that matched the pick-guard.

I had thought about upgrading the pups and pots but I'm not too motivated to tackle a hollow body upgrade. Sounds ok as is.

You're forgiven. That's one of the best looking Vees around.

    Thanks, Bid....I thought so too.

Before I bought this one, I hadn't really ever seriously considered getting an Epi of any kind. This guitar quickly changed my mindset about that. The only thing I wonder now is, are all Epiphone guitars this kind of quality and playability, or did I just happen to score a good one??

This V is the second of it's kind that I've had. The first either had some shipping damage or something else that had happened to it..the neck joint looked like it was coming apart. The binding in that location was cracked and there were hairline fractures in the finish all around the neck joint area. I sent it right back! But the one that replaced it has had ZERO problems, and is in contention for king of the "nicest" and "best-playing" categories, out of all the guitars I own. My collection is, admittedly, measly compared to many collections of members here though. It may quite very well be my favorite of the bunch!

Sadly, I haven't even played it in about 2 months. It's a signature model instrument, and I took it and had the man's ACTUAL signature put on it, along with the rest of his band....did a lesson with one of the guitar players and then got to hang out with the group for a bit before showtime. So now, it's just hanging on the wall looking sexy, and I bought a different V to play in the meantime.

If it had accurate chevrons and a military color scheme I would own one. It's just a gimmick as it is now.

I absolutely agree....more drawn to the sound, and the fact that I'm drawn to Explorers and would really like one, one day. The pups seem lively and sound good to my ears. Just not happy with the red!

All the epis we have purchased have been excellent players, and sad to say we only have 2 left of 6
    Cheers Mitch

I really like the look of these, but have seen many complain about the neck thickness. Is it really that chunky? Or are people overblowing it?

It's very chunky, like a baseball bat, and I love the hell out of it. Has a '58 neck profile. Before I had it, I was a bit worried about it myself. Turns out, my hand actually likes the feel of a fat neck. It's comfy.
