Haven't checked out the Epiphone lineup in years, but got a little curious today, and I have to say that they have some really cool looking guitars right now. The Hale Explorer is absolutely fantastic looking, the Wilshire caught my attention, and even their cheapest offerings, the Les Paul SL are really cool looking (tough choice between Turquoise & Pacific Blue for which one I like the most ... and for $119???). Those are just the top three that I like the looks of, and I could list a few others that look cool as well.

I agree, and the Explorers are especially attractive.....notably a few of the signature models. I very much like the tones from the Jason Hook guitar (5 Finger Death Punch) although I'm a lot less keen on it's design/appearance. If only I were handy with a sandblaster and spray gun....and also have around $1100AU or so.
Only ever played 1 Explorer, and found it extremely nice to play....it is, though, a **** of a thing to park in a guitar rack, and among the worst to sit and play in a comfy position.
I'd love one, though, oh yes!!

I may have underestimated the cost of this one, although the $1600AU quoted on the new eBay listing was out of Japan.
Watched a decent Andertons video, where they were moving this guitar and others at close to $1000AU, which made it well priced. They also were unimpressed by the design, though it did sound very, very nice.
The styling and design, it may suit some.

Yeah, I noticed that one, and don't think it's a bad looking guitar at all. The design is busy, but clean. Wouldn't personally buy one, but it's got some cool pop to it.

I have 62 Epi Wilshire RI which is a great guitar & nice to play. I kept that & sold a Gibson SG standard.
Now down to the Wilshire, Hamer Artist, MIJ Tele & a old Vantage 655. All I need.

Even rock stars of today can't afford an "authentic" Gibson? Holy shit what is this world coming to?

Probably the fact that you can set one up & fit your own prefered wiring, pickups etc. for $ - 1/4 of a stock custom shop. Work horse or show pony?

I recently got an Epi Goth Explorer. Perfect match for my 2204 clone.

I was told this was built up from an epi, but also changed a bit
like a crossbred SG/ Firebird, plays excellent and my grandson loves it, I traded a Korean built LP from epi for it from a local builder here in the Riverside area!

I have 4 Epiphones including 2 Elite/Elitist series made in Japan.

The Elite SG 61 Reissue is hand down the best SG I have ever touched in any price range. Period. The Elitist LP is no slouch and would rival many Gibson Standards.

The others are a Korina Explorer and a Matt Heafy signature LP custom with the axcess heel joint. Both are amazing guitars as well.
