I’m trying to figure out V1?? I’ve heard it’s closest to my amp input? But that tube has a metal cover and the power tubes are right behind it, so is this the PI? Man this is frustrating as I can’t find a schematic. Thanks!!

The V1 preamp tube is the tube closest to the input jack.
The schematic is a secret, only the authorized service centers will have it.

Hi, thanks for the reply! So it’s the only tube with the metal cover? I just thought it odd to be the tube right next to the EL34’s.

The tube right next to EL34 is the phase inverter not V1.
V1 is on the opposite side of the chassis next to the input jack.

My EL34s sit directly behind my input jack

Well actually my power tubes aren’t directly behind my input jack but darn close. Three tube slots have rubber grommets, and the tube slot in front of the power tubes has no rubber grommet but a metal cap that goes over the tube.

OK then see if you can get the tube location from Kdog.
I think he will help you find V1 preamp tube on the chassis.

All right. Thanks for the contact info.....I’ve got quite a few amps and finding V1 preamp slot has never been an issue, but this is a crazy layout.
