    Hi all
I have been searching through the forum for assistance into how to set up my DSL40CR 4cm with midi channel switching with my boss gt10/100.
There is a lot of info out there on this but I am a complete novice to this. If I connect my boss gt10 or 100 (I have both the gt10 is now a back up but I strangely prefer it!) via a midi cable to the amp will it automatically communicate and allow me to change between the channels and modes?
A really simple breakdown on how to set this up for an absolute beginner in midi would be massively appreciated.

    Thanks!

Did you get your audio chain figured out for the 4CM ?
You never replied on the last thread……

    Hi Jon
Yep I had the 4cm connected fine. But still the fx loop was off on the dsl and the front didn't respond when I pressed it to engage it. That's why I am thinking a mixture of midi for the channel switching) and the 4cm for fx in the right place.
Thanks for getting back to me.

Been meaning to ask Jon. Is that you on the right or left (or at all!)?

According to the DSL manual CC#13 is to turn FX loop on/off.
I have just tried playing with it on my GT-100. (GT-100 manual p.45) (GT-10 p.83)
I set onboard ACCEL/CTL switch and two outboard CTL switches (BOSS FS-5U-unlatching) to transmit CC#13.
    Results:
Onboard ACCEL/CTL = Switches the FX loop OFF. Momentarily switches FX loop ON (i.e. won't stay ON).
Outboard SUB CTLs (FS-5U) = Switches FX loop ON. Momentarily switches FX loop OFF (i.e. won't stay OFF).

So to operate the FX loop fully (i.e. ON and OFF) you need to use the onboard ACCEL/CTL switch for OFF and an FS-5U to turn ON.
Or two FS-5U switches (SUB CTL 1 & 2) set to CC#13, but with polarity switches set opposite ways.

I don't own an FS-5L (latching), so can't comment on how that would work.

Bit of a pain in the arse really!

    OK Update.
If you are going to try this, write down the original CC# numbers for the switches first. Any changes you make are saved instantly and are global.
I didn't write them down and now all patches are set with the CTL switches to CC#13!!

Can someone with the GT-100 please post the original CC# for ACCEL/CTL PEDAL OUT; SUB CTL 1 OUT; SUB CTL 2 OUT.

You can find them through the TONE STUDIO APP. Click on SYSTEM (bottom right of screen); MIDI SETTING; scroll to bottom.

Help would be greatly appreciated. I really do NOT want to have to do a SYSTEM reset.

    Hi Sky and Jon C
A quick update on the DSL and Boss GT10. I have now used it with 4cm and midi channel switching and it is awesome. I have also added a bad money in front of the dsl just give it a bit more push as I prefer the clean/crunch channel to the lead/gain ones. It sounds fantastic! Thanks so much for your detailed help previously, I couldn't be happier!

    Good to hear @spats71.
The Bad Monkey gets a good rep on the MF too.
