I'm officially old! Reading glasses are helping, but it's not just close up...everything's blurry. I've always had better than 20/20 vision until now. This came on very sudden, I just started noticing around the holidays. It's gotten worse since then. Is that how it goes? I thought it would be more gradual than that. damn! :(

I'm 18 and I have glasses. I only wear them for driving and cycling. It's really uncomfortable to drive without glasses because of the blur.

I'm going on a year with bi-focals.Get ready for your eyes to really get weak and lazy when you start wearing scrip glasses.I had 20/20 about 10 years ago,and WTF,now I'm half blind. The bi-focal thing made me feel old as dirt.:)

They're supposed to do the opposite. Mine have improved over the years a bit.

My brother and I are the only 2 in my whole family that didn't need glasses early on. My dad has worn them since he was really young, my mom lasted the longest and didn't need them until she hit 30, but every one else was somewhere in their teens and as far as I know my brother's still good. I consider myself fortunate that I haven't needed them 'til now, but it still sucks and reminds me that I'm not getting any younger. I'm 45 btw.

I have since I was in High School. Now I have "progressive" lenses. The only thing progressive about them are the price. They're useless for most things I find. Can't watch TV in Bed. Can't see properly in a deer stand. Can't see porn clearly on the internet...yuck. For my next ones I think I'm just going to go back to regular lenses.

Funny Poeman, but that's just the kind of stuff I was hoping would come up. I don't have a clue and I want to know what to avoid!

I guess I'm going to go ahead and make an appointment.

DO have your eyes checked at least once per year, at least for cholesterol and vascular reasons - the eyes are one place where early warning signs can appear. Also get your cholesterol checked as recommended.

I'm 16, in 10th grade, and I've been wearing glasses since 3rd grade.

I want some Raybans with my prescription in the lenses.

Got 'em too Poe,I move them down on my nose when watching tv in bed.I also have indexed lenses to keep them thin and light.Normal lenses for me would be coke bottles.

I have progressive lenses. I am not sure I have ever spent $950 on a more useless product.
