    I do.

I need to be immersed in the guitar world.

    It's torture too.

    But I dig it.:mrburns:

Hey, those guitar straps are wholesale.:applause:

I used to go the Dallas show in the spring and the Arlington (TX) show in the fall. I haven't been now for almost 10 years. The Dallas show always featured a "big name" live act each year. I've seen Nugent, Bonamossa, Rick Derringer, Kim Simmonds, among others. Junior Brown was a favorite. Now that I'm retired, I'm going to call up the guys I used to go with (they're both retired now, too) and try to make the next show. We always had a great time.

bftGibson I'm with you bro, the show is in my house. I have this friend and unfortunately he has the Golden Ear. He comes over here it's battle stations, at first he had no chance, he was outgunned, totally outclassed, now, I get sweaty when he calls, amongst other jewels he has this black strat i swear to god no matter what amp he or I plays through, it sounds like Hendrix.

tip, if you ever have to man battle stations, get your golden sound ready, dial it up on the amp and tone knobs etc on the guitar, in the heat of battle you get nervous and the Golden Ear goes on vacation, your fingers are sweating, possibly slightly shaking, your heart is in your ears, you feel slightly nauseous.

I may sometime have a guitar exhibit at my home to my immediate friends and bandmates.

My guitar buddies have been insisting of a sit down for me to show off the fruits of my labors.

My ego is somewhat on a leash.

i really enjoy cycling through playing them..almost a new song each week just doing that. I finally drew the line when the guitars got in the way of making music as top priority...Not a collector tho..or i would be screwed.
you got some killer guitars.. would enjoy that guitar exhibit ...i am into the history & love comparisons of a bunch of years & dif features of the same makes .always listening for a new song.....no way could get outta there without buying something..cash buyer always..lol

have 2 friends that are collectors & have stupid amounts of gear..1 disguises him self as a dealer..it's his cover to himself .got a few guitars off them over the years. i just got to stop this annual shredder superstrat binge buying & then trading...maybe its for fun to get in contact with music players...we are turning the corner to gigging again soon..that really helps tame the madness..then its PA's & fog juice & lights

Yes. It's the best place to trade gear and it's always fun. I brought a truck load of gear to the most recent show, and brought back a fair pile of money and a lot less stuff than I came with, and a couple new to me things I was glad to buy. Sold four amps, bought two. Three Marshalls gone, (Two low end models, no loss.) and one Mesa. Bought one Marshall and one Mesa. Sold some stuff. Saw some cool stuff I will never be able to afford.

no I don't go to any shows , I bet there are some in uk but I rarely go to music shops , i'm old skool and know what I like and have it already , after being told in jan 2012 it was months not years , i'm happy to chill with a bit of green and plinky plonk on what i got , i do upgrade on the speaker front though -its really difficult to get the chance to try a speaker without owning it first ,lol, and my wife sorta gets it a bit

When my mother-in-law died, I wanted my wife to have a diversion.

I asked her to take guitar lessons and she owns every guitar that I own and she can own any guitar and amp she wants.

    Well, you know me.:agreed:

I let her have my guitar stash and told her to choose her own.......buy or not.

Now, she tells me, "now I know why you have so many guitars":applause:

I went to a show here in the sf bay area but it was mostly effects and some amps not many guitars. It was pretty cool even though it was held in a hotel and each effects brand was in a hotel room that was cleared out of the beds and stuff so the companies could put up their displays. It was also pretty loud as there were demos going on the whole time.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Sounds like the effects and amplifier show that my buddy and I attended 3 years ago.

It was fun going into those hotel rooms and demoing effects and amplifiers.

There were some pretty good pickers.

My buddy told me, "I didn't know we had to practice to be here".

I could care less.................I just played and didn't intend to impress anyone.

    It was fun.

BTW, I was impressed by these amplifiers:

The guys at Jaded Faith supposedly bought all those George Lynch Randell amps and did a mod of them.
