I usually judge a persons mind by what computer they own.
Old computer equals stuck in their ways and certainly not avant-garde.
I tend to give it a four year grace period though.

    Your thoughts?

I still own an old PC with a pirated WinXP (not this one in particular).

But I also still use tape to record :naughty:

I've worked in IT for the past 15 years. I have several business class desktops and laptops, all of which have Windows 10 Pro w/ Office 2019 installed.

What does that say about me?

AMD 965 quad Dragon, 7 cooling fans, Windows 7 pro, I built it.
I won't ever use windows 10, I'll change to Linux for the next round.

I´ve been using macbooks since 2009 for a couple of reasons: logic, final cut pro, apperture (dead, now I´m back to adobe) and for the fact I've been changing less hardware since I've transitioned to OSX. the previous macbook I've owned I used it for 7 years for that purpose. It's really nice having things working without fiddling much around.

my studio computer is a mac mini server I7 with 16gigs of ram and a SSD, bought it in 2014 and still working perfectly. I'm wondering about a new mini or buying a PC and running OSX via some VM.

my personal computer is a 2017 Macbook pro... and probably going to be around for a while.

    As for the computer question:-

Currently running a Summit OLCF-4 out of Oak Ridge...

    No...

    Wait...

    It's a Compaq sporting an Intel Pentium CPU G3250 @ 3.20GHz
Slow as molasses running down an ice-cube on a cold day in hell...
But running Ubuntu (Linux), so fast as a hot knife through warm butter.

I fiddle a lot with guitars... I´m changing frets, routing stuff, upgrading guitars all the time. but when it comes to record my stuff I just want that stuff to work as expected, if any surprise let it be a good surprise.

I have a 2011 HP Pavilion with beatsaudio installed, so there!
    Why?
    Because it hasn't crashed yet.
(Hopefully, I didn't just jinx it and find it tits up in the morning.)

They should have stopped at Windows 7. Remember Windows 8?

We're migrating to Windows 10 at work due to (eventual) compatibility issues. A lot of programs we run won't be supported by Win7 in the not-too-distant future. Like I said; they shoulda stopped at 7, lol.

My gaming computer. Might be full of outdated everything? But that's why it was new at 500 dollars. Last year programs and parts? But it records game play as dose so much but I might not never use all it dose. inever had that technoalgy before. 25 dollars CD rom drive separate. I love it. I play games sometimes. Arcade 1 Up etcc..

Something in the unit helps my tinnitus. How I cannot explaine it? But it helps. :jam::headbanger::shred::scream::shred2::shred2::shred2::shred2::nuts::nutkick:
