I've searched the www and found various diagrams for this mod.

Can anyone help by posting a wiring diagram that is guaranteed to work please ?

I'm looking to coil tap 2 humbuckers > 3 way toggle switch > single volume > single tone and On On DPDT switch to do the tapping.

I prefer a separate switch to a push pull pot.

    Many thanks.

ps the Humbuckers are 4 core plus braid

two wires that are twisted together go to ground on each side of the switch (although it may not be humcancelling on the middle position of the 3-way)

It wouldnt be...could possibly be 60 cycle city...I would definitely do the liquid copper cavity paint and ground that solidly. You might have a fighting chance.

that will work, but depending on the pickups the middle position might not be humcancelling
if that's the case, instead of ground on one of the lugs have the 'hot' wire soldered there (a jumper wire from the switch lug to that pickup's spot on the 3-way would also work)

I tried doing the same thing, and wired it similar to the attached diagram (...I'm using Dimarzio Bluesbucker's though), but it's not working right. I think because the diagram shows a three-way switch, whereas like the original poster, I'm using a two way (On/On) slider DPDT switch.

I guess, I need to wire the ground to the middle lugs or something, and the twisted pair to one of the outside lug pairs?
    Thanks.

Wow, I never saw this thread. I have a Hagstrom Ultra-Swede wired EXACTLY as you're trying to do, but he already beat me to it.
