    Hi,
I have this old Marshall Cabinet in my cellar, i used it like 15 years ago for guitar playing. Too bad it isn't working anymore , i think there's a problem with the wiring of the input jack, its rusted. When i opened the cabinet i saw these speakers. I already did some little research and of what i found this should be bass speakers? They should have a '444' label but i can't see it. Can anyone put a positive ID on these guys? Thx! 3VRvwWKl.jpg yblOusFl.jpg z2eiiVql.jpg yblOusFl.jpg 3VRvwWKl.jpg z2eiiVql.jpg

Bass coned, Marshall labeled G12-65's! I've never tried those, but I absolutely love my bass coned G12-80's! But not necessarily for bass
and really the bass cones are some of the best for guitar. 1960's G12H30, T1281's are the most sought after Greenbacks, guess what...bass cones!

I'd check each speaker with a nine volt battery, then check the quad and then go to town!

the 9v is used as a test.

When you touch it to the terminals of the speaker, it will make the speaker move 100% in one direction, depending on polarity. If all you hear is the sound of the speaker hitting it's end of travel path (excursion) w/ a paper cone collision sound, the speaker is probably good. If it doesn't move, or makes a rough sound during travel, it's got problems.

If you do a charge to a 4x12 via cable to the input jack, all speakers should move uniform, in the same direction. If any speaker(s) move in the opposite direction (they are either hooked up wrong), or don't move at all (the speaker has failed), you've got problems...

Oh, and the "444" will be black letters so a little hard to see...FYI.

Also take an ohm meter and check the resistance of each one to make sure they are close to their rated ohms and not 0 ohms or open.
