So, I have a fairly new DSL40cr that I was determined to do the C19 mod on, only to find there are no capacitors (C20 is missing too) behind the Ultra Gain's gain pot. If they've moved it in the newer versions they must have renamed it as well because I couldn't find a 'C19' anywhere.

Have they done away C19 and C20 altogether?

C19 mod is only for the DSL40c, not the CR

Ahh... that would explain it. I just assumed they were the same except for the addition of the Master Volumes.

The location is C74 but it’s been omitted by Marshall already …… The changed a few other things as well … Pot Values and who knows …… The CR is fantastic stock …… Unless you have the ‘Burnin Yurnin’ to turn it into a Head like me!!!

Thank you for stating the obvious :applause:. The trouble is that the treble needs to be around 1 or 2 and it takes a wide range lot of upper frequencies with it. The Classic Gain on green seems fine, it's only when you introduce more gain that it becomes a bit ear-splitting. At the moment I have a vocal shield that I'm using as a beam-blocker. It actually works quite well. I'll play around with a parametric EQ but I was thinking the removal of a bright cap would give me what I'm looking for.
