HDTV bought home. Going to restore to 70's style. It's already 70's isn't it??

What will they do with it? It's near Universal Studios. Have tours?

Brady Bunch filmed in studio so I imagine that the interior of this home isn't anything like we watched on television.

2nd most pictured home, next to White House.

Why would a house this size require a maid? I always wondered that. And Mrs. Brady didn't work.

Very interesting. I was just a kid when that show was big. I watched it all the time. The outside looks in great shape and the backyard looks really nice also. The inside
looks as it was cared for but needs some updating.

I thought Mr. Brady was an Architect and actually design d the home in the show.

Thanks for the post, brought back my childhood memories!!

Always thought it was funny when they’d show the outside of this modest one story. Then next shot would be inside the front door in the living room and huge staircase leading to a second story. Lol

I wonder if they will tear out the grass and have astro turf installed?

Marsha was hot, but I think Jan surpassed her in the final season.

I thought the show sucked, and never watched it for more than 2 minutes.
Sort of like "Friends," another popular show which I thought also sucked.
I watched Monty Python's Flying Circus instead; proper entertainment for a youngster.
Now, I don't watch TV at all.

Given the tall living room ceilings in the stage set, it's easy to see that this isn't a two-story house with attic space. The top of the staircase alone was almost as high as the apex of this house's roof, and that's taking into account that the living room was recessed (you stepped down into it after entering the front double-doors. Moreover, it's a bit ridiculously posh for a general architect with a family 8-9 to feed and a maid, on one income. So unless Mike Brady was pulling down at least 80G's (excessive and extremely doubtful in the late 60's before this "reality show" began). :D

The Brady's was a great show for its time. So was The Partridge Family, Happy Days, Welcome Back Kotter, etc. Every fad has its day of popularity, and when its time passes it becomes, well, the past. Not even Farrah Fawcett could have remained popular forever.

    Cool pic.

Even the actor that played the Brady father thought it sucked and often butted heads with the producers about the asinine plots that the show had. He was even written out of a few episodes as a result.

I curious how their assessments work, because it was $161,213 last year. My house is assessed close to what it's "Zestimate" is, which is a lot more than what I paid. If I was able to sell for what the Zestimate says, I'd make 50% profit after living there only 7 years.

I was only surprised how little property taxes were in Hollywood being it is a wealthy town.

Yeah. I'm just confused why the tax assessment is so low. The $2200 seems reasonable for the assessed value. That's about what I pay, and my house is assessed about 30-40% more. And other houses in that area that are $1million+ seem to be assessed at the right value.

I grew up watching it like it was Biblical. Today I see it thinking it will bring back fond memories, and it's like fingernails on a chalkboard. The acting, script, production is horrific. 30 seconds and I feel like my eyes have been gouged.

Same thing with MASH. I joined the Army figuring it was the service with the most amount of humor.
