I ordered an Arion Tubulator on a whim to see if TS tone could be had for under $50. Any users have experience with Arion or this pedal particularly?

I've got an old Arion Flanger. It feels like a plastic toy, but it sounds pretty good

    I have this.

It's stock except for the knobs.

    I paid $29.00 for it.

    The plastic shell is crap.

I found this clip on youtube.
Based off this demo it sounds a little bit more natural, has its own thing going on. The Ibanez is a bit more in your face statement type tone. Both are good.

I like what I'm hearing in this clip of the Arion Tubulator..:dude:

Be great to hear a clip from you when you get it. Let us know what you come up with tone wise.

I can do that. I can compare it to a silver archer, ts808 RI and a Nutube TS.

The HW TS has a bit more grit but at the price I paid, I may even mod it.

Just got the Tubulator in. Wow!!! For $45, I like it better than the TS808 RI and it competes head to head with the Nutube TS. Standby for audio clips of comparison.

Arion: "I dont understand, we used the same parts as a tube sccreamer but some guitarist say their toys and sound awful. Well, we will swap it out for a $3 metal case and charge and extra $100 for it."

Guitarist: "Oh my god this thing sounds totally different. It has officially kicked my Tubescreamer off the pedalboard.

The perfect example of the placebo effect. It has infected some guitarist but not all.

Aww its such a kids toy but yet sounds so good. Must resist unless I pay $200 or more. Dammit, I'll just paint it baby blue and pretend I paid $200. Awwww all better now.

I had a bunch of them in the early 80s. The chorus was terrific, and the delay was one of the best old school delays I ever used. Plastic cases yes but they were pretty good sound wise. Imo They shouldn't be lumped in with the other plastic cased pedals.

They seem like plastic junk but these old MIJ Arion pedals sound amazing and are stupid cheap. I picked up a SFL-1 Flanger for $35 and was shocked by how good it sounds.
