I'm buying a pair of new Greenbacks. Just wondering if they are all made in the UK.

Is country of manufacture something I need to look out for?

    Regards

Not all made in UK. No need to worry where they are manufactured. Both country’s speakers are good. Only a cork sniffer would tell you otherwise.

They're both good speakers. They're different, but no more different than two old G12M's would be.

Heritage Greenback models are still made in the UK, but the G12M25 reissue Greenbacks are made in China.

I like the reissues, they are great sounding speakers.

The Chinese Greenies sounds pretty good to me... I use a pair on my 2x12... I also have the Heritage 55HZ (UK) and they're on my Fargen Mini Plex combo.....

Just got 2 new reissue "Chinese" greenbacks (8 Ohm), was actually surprised to find a "made in UK" sticker on them...
I guess they are made in both factories.

    DC28 would be a 2017, and a 53H1777 cone...interesting!

Too bad your speakers didn't have a "Made in England" green cover.

This is a bit stunning. I wonder if they shifted manufacturing back to the U.K. for those. Did you buy them from an authorized dealer?

The alternate possibility here is that there is a province named "UK" somewhere in China. hahaha.

Yeah, from Thomann. Well, not that it really matters, but I've e-mailed Celestion, will inform when I'll get an answer.

Thanks! I was thinking about commandeering your picture to ask them myself. Please do let us know.

It's just pure curiosity on my part. I have a bunch of modern production Celestions and I love my MIC Greenback just as much as the rest of them. It sounds killer.

Just got a reply from Celestion.
Apparently the sticker is UK made.

Now if that isn’t clever marketing I’m not sure what is.
