Without the original receiving tube manuals from the 30’s onward and their suggested-use base circuits, there would be no Fender.

I’ve visited Dave’s amp production and can tell you there is nothing “imitation” between his circuits and any other. I’m not shilling for him either; I like some but not all his heads.

I’ve browsed many similar comments suggesting 6L6/5881 circuits all go back to Fender and EL34 circuits all branch from Marshall’s branching off of a 410 Bassman which is unfair.

As for people switching I'm guessing pros use all kinds of different amps. Live, recording or otherwise. I know Jerry Cantrell sure does and he has some extremely sick sounding recorded guitar tracks, although I'll bet the engineer has a little something to do there too but you can bet JC has his stamp on it.

Sold the Mark V and bought an AXE-FX III. Got all the Marshalls, Friedmans and Mesas I could ever want now. ;) Quit drinking cold turkey on my own two years ago this month and have never been happier.

It's amazing how much extra money you have for music gear when you don't drink or smoke hey?

I quit smoking (a pack a day) like 10 years ago now, and used to blow about $300 a month on weed as well as the occasional bottle of Gibsons finest....

Anyways I have the Axe-Fx II and it still delivers. I'm looking at the recently announced FM3 to lessen my load out, as much as I want the Axe-Fx III, at 3 rack spaces it's just not practical for a local bar band guitarist.

    Friedman fuck.jpg

I still remember when Friedman said in a youtube podcast, that " Marshalll was no longer producing anything in England anymore". ....

Lost all respect for Friedman after that statement.

    No thank you.

Hmmm. When you have to talk down someones product to promote your own you will loose respect. Politicians do it all the time.

Kids are grown & out the door also..The Friedman Runt was an excellent amp..but I have those 4 holers..just plug n play into those..havnt touched the knobs on em..jtm45 huge clean..jtm50 nasty aggressive & jmp50 -thump -singing leads. The FriedmanRunt if i got it before all these amp..prob would not need another amp..my only minor nuance..a lil too polished & like others have said..it comes off recorded mrshall very well..but in the mids ..i missed the attitude only the M circuits give.. got the VM 2266 & 425a matching cab...blew me away..right in the box the Runt went after a/b --wasn't even close

Yeah I thought it was getting a little ‘judgy’ in here. I enjoy a pop more days than not myself.

I am not old enough to use the term "pop" since I came from the "soft drink" era. You know, whatever either of those are. :spock:

I like Coke and a Barq's root beer once in a while. :)

You aren’t from the northeast if you call soda ‘pop’ lol. I entertain for a living so a few drinks is part of the game, I understand why some folks abstain but alcohol isn’t always a life wrecker if respected. Do you and I’ll do me is pretty much my motto.
