If it were made in the U.K.? $1500 maybe?

this keeps surprising me as the speaker continues breaking in (I put in a 65 creamback - has taken longer than I expected to loosen up). The tones are sweet on the green channels and rock on the red. It’s just an impressive package in one amp - covers so many genres so well.

I put green backs in my 1960A, put the ones that came in the 1960A in my 4 X 12" in a Carvin cab I have, both are slant fronted.

Yeah it does :) The compressor keeps it all very quiet.

The Carvin cabinet is covered in dark gray fur.... ecccck, but it doesn't affect the sound at all!:jam:

The DSL 40CR is the best 1x12 combo Marshall has made I think. I have a Creamback 65 on route for it, cant wait.

Please let us know what you think of it. I have a DSL 40 combo that came with the creamback. It sounds pretty good up to a point, but it gets flubby at high volume, big-time.

I had my amp cranked and the Creamback did great. Didn’t flub out at all. Wonder why yours does?? Amp settings maybe?

It’ll be another 3 weeks. I could have got it off amazon for about $35 more wayyyy quicker but wasn’t in a real rush. Ordered it from a local guitar shop that had to get it from they’re supplier and nothing there happens fast, but it was cheaper so whatever.

I've tried dialing out the low end. I admit it's getting pretty loud when the speaker starts to lose it's cool...master at about 2:00 or more. I'm jamming with a vicious drummer using 26" kicks at the moment. Loud is the order of the day

It's a shame because I'd love to use the DSL as a practice amp, it's so easy to tote around and sounds pretty good otherwise.

I might just try another speaker

Me thinks you’re gonna love that Dsl40cr even more that you already do ...with that Creamback in it! :applause:

I heard they take awhile to break in. I’ll have to kick the wife out of the house for the weekend and open it right up to punch that new speaker in.

Stock tubes throughout. You think maybe trying some different power tubes might make a difference? I've got bunches of EL34s, both old and current production. What tubes do you have in yours?

I believe those are JJs...not so much my favorites. I ran all Mullards in mine and liked it. Its worth a try if you have tubes sitting around. I found Tung-Sols added too much bass for my taste!

Damn! Running the master at 2 is unbelievably loud That drummer is vicious for sure. I played a few times with a drummer like that - he was huge and loved playing full tilt - hit as hard as he could. It was unreal.
