    Anyone?
    I have an ES-175 59 spec ,
    and a Les Paul Traditional.
ES makes the LP sound like a ukulele by comparison.....
    Absolutely ROARS!

    I used to own this:

    Gibsones175N.jpg

It needed to have the fret board replaned and refret.

It went back to Gibson and they just put a heat wrap on the neck and never did the correct repair.

When I got it back, I immediately brought it to GC for a trade.

I got this 10 top (single piece top) PRS single cutaway full rosewood neck in the trade.

IMO, and my luthier, the Gibson ES 175 would continue to have neck issues and Gibson DID NOT do the necessary warranty work.

If the 175 was up to snuff, no way would I part with it.

Frets sucked on mine, too. Edges would slice your finger tips.
Tuning machines were wobbly junk, pickup ring was installed backwards....
Had the frets leveled and dressed, installed modern 18-1 Klusons,
Now, it is awesome! Just got it back yesterday.
My wife of 30 years bought it for me! :) :) :) :)
    It's a keeper!
    Wife too!

The fret edges on my 175 were fine.

The truss rod would not fully adjust.

The neck angle on the first few frets was the issue.

My luthier and I adjusted the neck but it would still be pretty bad on the first few frets.

Back to Gibson it went and, according to my luthier, Gibson didn't correct the issue.

In fact, the guitar came back with horrible intonation.

    I was devastated.

Beautiful to look at but played horribly.

It was an expensive dumpster............just like my L2 Centennial.

Gibson had my money and could care less.

    Yeah sweet but iffy.

Some buddies at Sam Ash Edison, NJ sent back a half dozen Memphis ES 335's.

You could shoot an arrow off the necks.

    Again, Gibson could care less.

I'm a big 335 junky and I'm picky about these.

Some are sweet.....others are for the fire place.

I guess I have to play one some time. I’ve never been of fan of the larger, hollow body guitars. But again, I’m speaking from visuals only and not hands on. Who knows, I may be pleasantly surprised.

I know what you mean. My D'Angelico semi hollow makes my other guitars sound like toys. It does it all--jazz, rock, acoustic, metal, whatever.

915990CD-86DC-4CB6-997D-C9F23DC47D4E.jpeg One of my many ES-175s. I only own 1 now, but have played and owned many over the years. Some are better than others, but I’ve never had a bad one yet.
