So I had ordered some stuff to put into my guitar and was really pumped up about it since I was looking forward to the upgrades I was planning on doing to it.

    I had ordered:

    Seymour Duncan Blackouts

    F-U Tone 32mm L brass block

F-U Tone Red Heavy Duty/Noiseless Trem Springs

I got the brass block and when I put it on my floyd rose it was ezpz, but when I put it into my guitar I noticed that the little L part of the block was rubbing right against the wood in the cavity, would not let me pull on the trem and is lopsided.

I thought oh well I will just order the one without the L and when I get it ship the L one back for a refund.

Now the with the Black Winters I had soldered everything in and was excited since this was the most important upgrade that I was doing on this guitar since I did not like the previous pickups.

The Neck pickup worked and the bridge was not responsive. After 3 hours yesterday and 2 hours fiddling around with it today I have concluded that the bridge pickup was dead....

    great....

So know my jackson is all gutted right now and mangled up and now I have to wait for my stuff to come back so I can finish up my project.

It has just been a long week and it is only TUESDAY!

Hang in there, its disappointing but not the end of the world. There are much worse things that could have happened...

    I hear ya, Justin

Couple of weeks ago I ordered a restored Echoplex, an Eventide eclipse and an Alesis masterlink.

The masterlink had a bad hard drive. I ordered a new hard drive for it and the replacement hard drive was Dead on Arrival.

The Eventide eclipse would not power on whatsoever. I sent it back for a refund

The Echoplex sounds beautiful but it will not go into oscillation. The seller gave me a bunch of bullshit and it's going to be like pulling teeth to get any money out of him.

    But....on the bright side....

Everything else in the studio works great and sounds wonderful. My business is rockin full blast. I'm working on the songs I'm going to use to audition for America's Got Talent. Me and the boys had a great Jam last Sunday.

I guess I'm just saying to remember to concentrate on the positive, and to be proactive when things go wrong in in order to straighten everything out and move on

    ......... Whos Justin?

Getting rid of the JB/59' I have tried very hard to try to get it to work with my rig and it just does not get the sound I want. I feel like I might need to go actives since my 2 other guitars that I like the sound of both have actives

Take ohm's readings on the supposedly dead pup using the supplied wiring diagrams. Do you get a reading between 5k and 16k?

My DMM has the audible continuity feature and I use it to check every solder connection I make just to be sure!!!

Absolutely. I learned that lesson the hard way long ago. When you tear an amp apart, do the repair, put it back together, and find out it doesn't work, tear it back apart, find out you made a shit solder joint............

That is definitely something I will look into since I might have to go through a few pickups in my Jackson to find what I like. Can this check wehn something is soldered to a pot if it is working? What else can it do aswell?

Been a tough month. I had to fire someone in my department, but I have to do it. Thank goodness for being in an "at will" state.

FWIW...the last (4) weeks have been tough as hell and I wont get into it. All I can say is that I have not been able to enjoy anything, cant slept well, dont feel like going to the gym, stomach hurts and cant even shit right, so it has sucked BUT today things got way so much better. Sooo better, I cant really believe it yet and it has not sunk in. Kind of like it will take may body and mind a few days to let it sink in and calm down. But boy, am I relieved!!!

Everyone has some shit going on somewhere. There's guitar pickup problems then there's our best friend who despite all her efforts is now pregnant and in 3rd year med school. No sleep, nauseous, tired but must press on.
Whenever I feel a bit overwhelmed, I think of the wife's 16 hour brain surgery from 2 years ago she's still recovering from, and I know that could be far worse than it was. So I tend to relax a bit and put it in perspective.
Not to belittle anyone else's issues including pickups.
