I really like the JMP, mine is a bit of a hack. I would love to find an all original one like my 2204 that is untouched, but here in Australia I think I will just have to be happy with mine. If you have a good one post a pic of it, I would live to see some Original tolex.
Which is your favourite, Red or black? _K3A4403.jpg

I have a couple of original black 2204's. Ones a 77 and the others a 79. I'm thinking about picking up a spare head shell in red or purple just to mix it up some. Is that one in red yours ?

Great picture! Do your 2 amps sound similar to each other?

Yes the head was re covered by Marshall but the amp itself is a bit bashed up.
    I would like either 2204 or 2203.

Sweet. I like the red also. I have a red 1960b that I think one of the JMP's would look good on.

Both are pretty much stock but run different power tubes. One runs 6550's and the other runs EL34's. They both have that Marshall crunch but the 6550's ad some lower end thump vs the EL34's which has a little more top end bite. I run them in stereo with a little chorus thru it and oh boy, its incredible.

Plus one on the Rockcrusher too, its my favorite power brake.

I was told this resistor (The one with the horrible installation) was part of converting back from 6550's but don't know enough about the circuit to see what else was done. I sometimes think I would like to go in and make it "as stock" while fixing some of the damaged wiring. And properly installing that diode you can also see in the photo but, would it still sound exactly the same?

I think if the amp itself has been flogged the shell should match :)

Its starting to get hot here and we finished work a few hours early yesterday because of the bush fires. I had the air con screaming while recording this and thought you might hear it. Looks like there are not enough gaps in the guitar playing to pick it up.

    Thanks!
I haven't heard that song for a while and noticed Ace's guitar sounded pretty trebly so nocked the bass right down and filtered a little more off after recording.

Black is definitely the best color for marshalls to me, perhaps white would be second, the other colors just don't have the right impact to my eyes

I mentioned the bush fires above and just want to say. I heard a comment from one of the fire fighters going in after the fire and hearing all the cries from the wounded animals. This has stuck with me now for a couple of days. I wish I could help them. The smoke was so thick here you could look directly at the sun, I am a long way from the fires. Looking through the smoke I was thinking this belongs to the animals that are in some way at peace, I really feel for the ones that are not:(

If I could only have one colour it would be black for Marshall's as well, What about glow in the dark green Tolex!

I like the red - with a matching pair of 1960's it would be titanic! I have a pair of 2203's 77 [el34] & 78 [6550] and I like them both since their tone is a bit different.
