    Evening all,

Very early Marshall afd100 here, certificate indicates first 50 off the line (#49)

Trouble is, it suffers from the early batch ink problem on the back so when coming to polish it - it’s all but disappeared. No residue left, just a clean metal panel now.

Would you flip it for a later one or leave it be? In mint condition in every other way.

Leave it be and stop rubbing off stuff from the factory . Good thing you told me that as I will never polish anything on my Marshall's . Seriously with a low serial # , and if she is in tip top working condition she is a keeper !

Thanks, it was literally hanging off unfortunately so all came clean off with the cloth. No writing at all on the back now.

....so this is kinda like the people who douse their supercar in so much tire shine it loses traction and skids right off the ashpalt and into a telephone pole?

You could claim it's a prototype without the markings on the back LOL !

When I say hanging off I mean literally hanging off, coming off in chunks when moving it around.

Honestly, I doubt it'll ever be worth more than original sticker price.... maaaaaaybe original sticker price times a fraction of inflation, if said inflation materializes.

Wrong century for collectible Marshalls. Plus, hey, it's freakin Slash... he'll probably have Calvin Klein Signature Depends soon.

Far too much endorsed merch for crazy collector value. It's just ink, it's functionally irrelevant and shouldn't affect your user experience in the slightest.

    Just have fun with it

Actually, I've never seen one for sale that wasn't at least a few hundred more than the "new" price. It's limited and it kicks ass, definitely a collectible.

If I recall Marshall was supplying new back plates for this issue... contact them if you want a new one....
