I have marshall 1987 that i like the sound of. what i do not like is the size of the cabinet. it also needs a pedal in front of it for breakup at club levels. so with that being said it is really more powerfull than what i need. maybe i am the minority here but the cabinet size is just really a lot bigger than it needs to be. i am into keeping it as simple and compact as possible. looking for an amp that is either a combo or small box head that is 30 to 40 watts. choices in that range seem very limited. the 40 watt haze has effects that just don't need to be there imo. the jmp small box heads are too expensive. the blues deluxe needs to be modded to get rid of the flub. had an egnater tweaker 15 watt, loved the tone of the amp it is just not loud enought to keep up with the band. also not crazy about the 40 watt tweaker because of the amount of switches and knobs. i like simple... the peavey classic 30 watt needs to be modded as well or i'd go for that. the fender deluxe reverb sounds great imo just not powerful enough. maybe i should try a jcm 800 combo, one of my main issues with the 1987 is that i have to lug around a big pedal board. with a jcm 800 combo i would be able to get gain from the amp at lower levels with less pedals. was really hoping for more options in the 30-40 watt range though.
