Marshall Plexi. Fender Bassman. Vox AC 30. 5150. Soldano. JCM 800. Twin Reverb. Mesa Boogie. Roland Chorus. Diezel. Orange Thunder.

    Fender Super Sonic??

I've heard the amp. It does sound spectacular. Hard to imagine it made the list considering the competition.

I have Super Champ X2 Head. Any comparisons to Super Sonic? Super Champ has some very good qualities, minus alleged digital/Solid State interference.

Those Fender Supers are two totally different amplifiers.

^This, in a big way. I have the original combo version, Super Champ XD, and it's a great little amp. But the onliest thing it shares with a Super Sonic is the word "Super," and that they both have tubes. The Super Sonic is a traditional tube amp, although from what I understand fairly "modern/hot rodded" compared to older Fender designs. The SC X2/XD is a hybrid tube thingy with digital amp modeling.

Any kudos to Super Champ X2? I think that the price is deceptive regarding its quality in tone.

SERIOUS Blackface 15W tone at $299 with two 6V6 power tubes.

As previously noted, I have the predecessor model, the Super Champ XD, and it's "a great little amp." I used it for a church gig for years. Perfect for that application. I usually just lined it out to PA, though occasionally it was mic'd if I used the line out to slave a second amp (as shown).

Yep I was impressed with it

Had a keyboard player in the studio who theoretically was going to lay down some backing tracks for some of my tunes. He brought an X2 along with his other gear. I played through it a good bit and was very impressed with its capabilities....

Long story short, the old boy had equilibrium issues, and took several slow-motion falls in the studio....quite comical but hazardous to my gear.

I ended up running him off, and as he was on the way out the door I asked him if he would sell me the super champ X2. He told me I was a shallow bastard for throwing him out for such a silly reason, and to vigorously have sex with myself.

Needless to say, I didn't score the amp. (But I did consider his parting recommendation)

I just think that for $299 you can’t buy better tone than XD\X2. Channel 1 is like $6-700 worth of tone.

I’ve shunned Fender for decades, due to reliability issues which may, or may not have merit. Probably not.

I’m not quite sure I can bond with Super Sonic at $999 price range. You can virtually get same sound at 1/3 of price. There is even a digital setting, which I’m not quite sure about.
