Seems like a crazy seller, this is local ad. Putting a Gibson neck on a replica from Japan?

    upload_2019-8-27_8-41-50.png

OK, folks...this one is AMAZING. It's a 1989, made-in-Japan Orville Les Paul Custom. It has many significant upgrades, with the best of the best:

    • Orville headstock logo professionally replaced with mother-of-pearl Gibson logo (it looks PERFECT)

    • Silver metal flake finish by Marty Bell (best in the biz...refinished in 2019)

    • Stainless steel frets (never wear out!)

    • Faber locking bridge and tailpiece! Drastic sustain/tonal improvement

    • Seymour Duncan Slash Alnico Pro 2 pickups

    • Grover locking tuners

    • Bone nut

PLEASE NOTE: This guitar is wired as a hot rod, ala Brian Setzer and Eddie Van Halen: there is only one master volume knob. This gives a much fuller sound to the pickups. The other three knobs are simply dummy pots. Of course, you could wire this however you want, but it really sounds incredible as is.

It is no exaggeration to say this guitar plays as good as any Les Paul out there. Set up perfectly with low action and no buzzing. Straight neck. No issues at all.

Pics do not do this guitar justice. It looks like liquid fire under the lights!

    Weight: 10 lbs, 12 oz

    Comes with SKB hardshell case.

IDK, but it looks good from the front and it seems the Seller is being very detailed and up front with his listing. I guess the true test would be looking at it, playing it and meeting the Seller to get a read on him:

He didn't say anything about a Gibson neck. Only the logo.

It would be worth more with its original decal.

I have seen that ad. I'm from nearby and thought, yeah buddy, good luck with that one.
What about this ugly as F*@K Samick LP copy that has been listed on CL in the same area for like at least 3 years now.

Seems like a lot of trouble to go thru to fix up a copy. That's really weird. Wonder what that guy was thinking:scratch:

Maybe it was like a home re-model, or better yet, a home recording- that got out of hand!

IF it's a real Orville, it's a nice guitar prolly originally worth $600-900ish... BUT NONE OF HIS MODS ADD VALUE

...and if it's a Chibson, then yes his mods add value, but no nowhere near that much.

Why would this thing be worth more than a used Gibby?? Putting Gibson on the headstock is cheesy.

If you buy new Gibson's you never have to worry if it is a fake.
