DSL 15H - Modded.

Here's a quick and crappy video of the modded dsl 15 head. Big ups to Chadjwil,Micky and Heinreich.
Here's what was done:
R82-add 150k resistor(spot is already there ,but unused)
C58-2n2
C34-snip
C75-snip

Best sound I've heard from this amp so far. Makes me want to get one and do those mods.

Awesome playing, too.

Sounds great. Does this mod affect the green channel in any way?

That's more like it! IMO, the 15's should come that way from the factory and with a loop. Nice job!

Re: DSL 15H - Modded.

I'm thinking I'm gonna try and lower the gain a bit more and add a choke.
I'm thinking(correct me if I'm wrong) a choke might help with the over compression at higher gain settings.

Re: DSL 15H - Modded.

What volume level are you running?
A choke may only help at higher volume settings...

I dont think the choke will help at all with the compression at higher gain settings.

If your happy with the sound at 10 oclock on the gain knob, why do you need to change it ?? Is it just so you can dime the gain and still have a sound you like ??

Between 10 and noon, but probably a bit higher in some gigging situations.

I'd like to get where I'm at with the gain set 830 to say 10 and where I'm at at 10 to noon.
Then I think they'll be a more usable sweep in the gain settings.

Re: DSL 15H - Modded.

One more question, please - would just snipping C34 and C75 improve things a bit? I would do that before I purchase parts and do the soldering. Thanks!

I'm sure it'll help.
But R82 is the main move.
