I have one in a HSS Yamaha and it does the job nicely too & is set for coil splitting as well
the above will work fine however a 57classic & 57 Classic+ combo can work wonders with 50s wiring
what amp are you running through?

couple of things,
I had to change the bias resistor on mine as it too was maxing out around 29 - 32 ma per tube via the pin8to grnd...
been running my 2203x into my 1960A w Creamback 65s as well for many years now.......happy
even with my B cab loaded with G12T75's it sounds...
