the lead channels on the DSL are probably in the ballpark
in all honesty an amp that can go from this tightly focused metal with the correct metal gear around it

i used to have the older JCM2000 DSL100
the preamp on this newer one sounds a little tighter and less noisey

the 808s are a different beast def designed at 9v very specifically
also, I have three of these amps.
first one the 3rd power tube grid blew, haven't fixed it yet they glued all the plastic connectors inside seems...

I did the 18v mod, made them weaker, they held less bass and clarity to support and cut through for low power chords. 9v is brighter imo.
