Hell of a DEAL!!

Last monday I was going thru a small Mississippi Town,McComb, I spotted a pawn shop Ive wanted ta check out a couple time but it was always closed,BUT today it was open with a going out of biz sign on da door!!
I went in a found a pile of amps mostly SS, BUT found a VOX AC30CC2X,and a Fender Hot Rod Deville, Looked brand NEW!! I asked the Guy what he would take? He said make an offer so I offered 200.bucks for Both!!He said he would Take 300.for Both, I said Let me see How much money I have, and I knew I didn't have 300,so I emptied my wallet in frount of him and I had 289.00 and he took it for Both amps!!!!!!!!! the VOX is a Tone monster and the Hot Rod ain't no slouch either!!

Now we know why there was a "Going out of Business" sign on the door...

Gotta love those small town pawn shops...

Re: Hell of a DEAL!!

I have learned a couple things about pawn shops,
1, I never waste time in a pawn shop in the city, cause most have internet and sell all there good stuff on Ebay or have found out the value of the stuff and ask an unreasonable price for the stuff!
2. I watch for out of the way shops in small towns when I walk in I see if they have a computer at a glance, and make small talk, then check out ta see if they have anything worth lookin at.
I found a Fender Twin a few months back, had gold lable jensons, and groove tubes, I got it for 100.bucks
I found a crate 4 channel pa head 100 watts brand new, still had tags on it, for 10.bucks!! Plugged into a pair of monitors It makes a great Keyboard amp!
I found an OlD Harmony Stella accoustic guitar needed to reglue the head, for 2 Bucks
I found a 1962 Gretsch rythem master for 5 bucks

Re: Hell of a DEAL!!

Well in my crappy city, they do not sell on the internet. The only problem I have is worried about getting jacked on the way out there!

Re: Hell of a DEAL!!

Ya Know!! Ive never played a VOX before, but I haveta say they are awesome amps, tone monsters, Kinda weird ta get used to the channel settins but Iam still playin with it, but has some rich thick creamy tones, and plenty of power, Heavy as heck!! 85lbs, The Hot rod Devlle is a great amp as well, I just need ta retube it, there is a tube thats making some Alien sounds, after it warms up good it goes away.
