Need Advice - Small Bass Amp for my 12 Yr. Old Son

My 12 year old is getting very interested in playing bass. I have a decent Highway One P-Bass that he has been playing, but I have him going through my Korg into my studio speakers.

Have looked at the 10 to 15 Watt bass amps on Musicians Friend and Guitar Center.

The Ampeg BA-108 (15 W), Fender Rumble (15 W) and Peavey MAX 158 (15 W) look promising. There are a few others too (Acoustic, Hartke and Vox).

Does anyone have any experience or advice with these? They are all in the $99 range and the GC has a $20 off coupon for purchases of $99 or more.

Thanks!!

DP

Re: Need Advice - Small Bass Amp for my 12 Yr. Old Son

I had one of the new acoustic heads (B600H) and the 8x10 cab and they both seemed well made and sounded pretty good considering the price was like 1/4 of the ampeg stuff. Plus it since GC owns the company if it ever breaks in the 3 year warranty window just bring it back into GC and they will swap it on the spot.

I also agree on Acoustic. You can get them used for SUPER cheap.
