NAD! (1970 Fender Princeton Reverb)
I keep saying I will never own a Fender amp ever again.
But when a student showed up in my office with this one, I couldn't resist. 1970 Princeton Reverb - Silverface 15W, 6V6GT power, 7025, 12AT7, 12AX7's and a 5U4GB rectifier tube. This particular amp has suffered the wrath of Hurricane Irene - It is severely water damaged. I haven't pulled the chassis yet, but I think the water was below that level... Can't wait to mod the shit outta this one, I will need to move the reverb tank (HUGE!) in order to fit a 12" Greenback in there, not sure what else I wanna do yet. It has the boost push-pull volume control, the tubes are probably shot and the tolex is crap... Sorry for the crappy pix. ![]() ![]()

I have never ever been a big fan of 10" speakers, but if I can salvage this one, someone might want it. I know I don't. The water level definitely came up to the speaker magnet level, I also have my doubts about the reverb tank. After I get it home and can take it apart I will know a lot more. Hopefully I can narrow down the year of manufacture based on the components and circuits inside... Right now I am thinking it is a 1977...

In terms of a restoration project, that amp is already in pretty good shape.
It may need some work, but from the images you posted, not a lot. Excellent find...wish stuff like that would stroll into my office ![]() Let us know how she sounds...and post some 'after' pics once you've had a chance to pretty her up.

Re: NAD! (1970 Fender Princeton Reverb)
It is not in as good shape as one might think... Although the water damage is limited to the lower part of the amp, the inside of the chassis is looking kinda rough. No rust or anything bad really, just some corrosion on the surfaces and a lot of debris.
The caps will probably need to be replaced, as there is evidence of overheating and such. I will post some internal gut shots later, it looks like this is gonna be a great rebuild project. I will probably attack the tolex on the cab as well, maybe put some decent corner hardware on it and clean up the silver front fabric as best I can. I think I have some Marshall elephant tolex laying around that would look great. Apparently these amps are pretty desirable. I had no idea the blackface PR's were going for upwards of $1700, if I can get this silverface modded to blackface specs, it might be worth selling as well. I have a feeling the tone I can get outta this little 12 watt beast will be awesome, especially with tube rectification...

Re: NAD! (1970 Fender Princeton Reverb)
If you arent committed to a true restoration, just rebuild the cabinet from scratch with new wood....all new tolex....new mesh....for under $200 you could probably rebuild all the non-electrical stuff.
Rewire the amp, new tubes, new discrete components....new speaker if needed....pretty much a comprehensive rebuild. Not sure if you were looking to sink that kinda money or time into it....hell, id play it the way it sits now if it turned on
