I've never heard one completely cranked...but I've heard they are PAINFULLY loud, louder than most amps around the same wattage.

Dudes, check this out. It's been on sale locally for like, seven, eight months... Price keeps going down and down.

I actually like how the XXX sounded... I'd just cover up or replace the frontplate.

That's the one + Fender M80, anything with more than 7 knobs (Mesa is the king) and the old Flintstones style Peavy logo

Well, you're in luck! That amp is still sitting in the store I first saw it in. Judging from the looks of it, it's still a virgin too. I've got a feeling it'll be there after the store goes out of business. All they have are Peavey amps and some off-brand strats.

I bought one of these back in the mid 90s. I still have it. It looked cool when it first came out but it did not age well at all. It sounds decent though.

I use to own one a long time ago,and your right about the sound not being that great, otherwise I would still own it , but it was a sexy looking amp IMO.

Looks are subjective. Im getting my amps covered in all kinds of crazy shit. But i think overall they will look badass .

I like some of the quirky shit out there too unless its just hideous. Not sayin i would "Rock " it haha!
Its strange n unique for maybe someone in a Beatles retro style tribute group or somethin lol.

Anyway..

Biggest disappointment to my "ears " was the Mesa Stilleto. Tinny and "painfully bright "!!!

Always hated Sunn Amps, kustom, peavey old crap. Never liked oranges.

I also hate seeing Marshall clones with other peoples names on them. Design something instead of using a kit. For Christ 's sake! Lol

Guess that I am too much old school.

Any amp with more than 8 tone/volume control knobs.

The Stiletto gets fatter, but only if you crank the output knob. That's the trick to get it fat sounding enough...

i never had issues with the stage II. it's bright but that's because it's a Brit style tone. i love them personaly. the only issues i had are the same with any mesa, cold bias point which makes the crankage necessary.
