Re: What amp do you have had , have or want ?
Me and my guitar pal want to start doing small gigs together. We play electric acoustic guitars and need amplification of them and our voices. Our knowledge of amps is years out of date but we like Marshall. What would anyone recommend please?

for a good size studio. But like you said to have it if i need it. I have my 900 1/2 stk for that reason, just in case, i usualy just use my AVT50 for recording, it actualy is excelent for recording. But istn tha great for "Clean" My favorit bass head of all time is the Custom HIWATT 200 head |

I have a yorkville 100 watter,in the studio, with line out!!its Ok for that use but you ain'r gonna take it out anywhere, Ive been lookin at Hartke and GK, but the ampeg rocks with sound highs and lows, I saw a band the bass player had a small ampeg combo and a cheap bass and man he sounded great!! and thats where the groove is ,in them bass lines! I go by the Scout motto be prepared!!!

Re: What amp do you have had , have or want ?
I Think todays score of a Silver Jubilee 2550 made me VERY happy!
The tone of this amp is simply incredible! Even on the 25w setting, it's quite loud. The clean channel is as clean as my mode four(which will be sold VERY soon!). I have to find a JCM 800 bottom, or maybe hope for a Jubilee 4X12 to pop up, then it'll be complete. I even bought my former favorite SD-1 pedal to put in front of it today! I am one happy camper!!! |

Re: What amp do you have had , have or want ?
I have a Crate VC50 it was my first tube amp managed to get it for a bargain price of £150 on ebay I wanted to get a marshall JMP Combo but couldn't really afford it at the time and was in desperate need for an amp that would be loud enough live as my Marshall 30DFX was decreasing and increasing in volume randomly so yeh went for the CRATE love it, still have it as a backup or practice amp if I have to lift share with my bassist.
I wouldn't mind getting a master JMP and also the 1960bhw cab to complete the stack lol |

Re: What amp do you have had , have or want ?
Hi, apart from my 2204, 2150 and 2245 amps through 2 4x12s ro a 2x12 or 1x12, I also run a Fender Champ 15 watt valve amp though a 140 watt fender solid state combo, as a mini fender stack. It sounds awesome and the gain and tone are quite SRV or Jimi (he used a Bassman from time to time). The reverb isn't very prominent, and it just doesn't look as rock and roll as a full Marshall stack with a 800 or JTM 45 sitting pretty on top!

Re: What amp do you have had , have or want ?
have had some nice amps, just got a Fender Deluxe 112 for $20 and replaced the blown stock speaker with a Celestion. Would LOVE to have an old Mk2, like a 1972 (even though it's too loud), also want an old Kustom (amp & cab) with sparkle, a Fender twin reverb, and an AC30, and an AC15, and a SuperBeatle, and a Fender Super Reverb, and a Vibroverb, and a pony.

Re: What amp do you have had , have or want ?
oooh - I thought of some more amps I want. A really old Marshall head sitting on top of a Marshall cab with 8-10" speakers in it, an Ampeg SVT, a Fender Super Six, a hand made tone-mad 30 Watt RMS head and a Marshall cab with 4 Greenbacks in it, and another cab with 4 V30's and another with a mix of speakers. One of those vintage Marshall combos with 2-12's. A Hartke cab with 8-10's, 2 Hartke cabs (to stack) with 4-10's - the aluminum cone speakers, they look & sound amazing. And a pony.

Re: What amp do you have had , have or want ?
I recently purchased a Krank Rev + and found it to be a very well made piece of equipment. Solid...After a week of owning it, I returned it and bought a new TSL 100. The Krank was not a versitile amp, unless you play a lot of Pantera
. Prior to that i was using a Marshall SLX and a Fender twin ultra chorus with an A/B switch between them. So far the TSL proves to be more versitile and is a hell of a lot easier to set up.

Re: What amp do you have had , have or want ?
Way back in the late 70's, I had an old used "no name" 1x12 tube combo with spring reverb (probably a 1960's vintage from Sears). It had a power switch, volume, tone, and reverb controls, and nothing else. I don't remember the wattage, but it was pretty low power. Anyway, if you dimed that little box and added a touch of reverb it would howl with the sweetest tone and warm sustain. That was a great little practice amp that I would love to have again.
I currently have a VOX AD30VT, a Marshall AVT-100, and an unusual 1980's (MTI Japan) Ampeg V3 2chnl 50-watt 1x12 tube combo... If anyone has any info (manuals, schematics, etc) for the MTI-Ampeg V3, let me know...
