Unhappy Please Help diagnose Fender Acoustasonic amp trouble

I have a Fender Acoustasonic amp that I use primarily for vocals. Today, when I turned it on it just freaked out and sounds are coming out of it that sound like the Ocean (not the Zeppelin tune, the big body of water).

I unplugged the mike and it still makes horrible crunching and whirring sounds!

I believe this to be a solid state amplifier, correct?

So what gives?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You

since its a solidstate it may be the board? have a tech check it out or check the fuse at the back?
