Hey iron thanks for checking in on me.

A local guy a few years back modded the DSL with the tranny's and the caps too iirc, but it just seems tighter and more open with better crunch and cleaner cleans.

I don't think I like the TSL better to be honest but I like it as my home studio am because of it's versatility. I can't stress enough the ability to do silent recording by using the mute and emulated line out, the additional channel and the VPR. It's a totally misaligned amp simply because of it's earlier versions that did have the issue with the PCB.

I did change the tubes to the high gain KT77 and ECC83 set and biased it on the low side and it's been smooth sailing.

If I were to choose between the two for serious mike recording and gigging I'd have to go with the modded DSL.

I believe FJA has a mod so the modes in the classic channel become foot switchable.

Hey Steelhorse, don't seem like you have been as active in the forum lately. Hope all is well with you. I've got a question, when you have the time.

Can you refresh my memory on your TSL verses DSL thoughts. If I remember correctly you said that you upgraded the trannies to get the dsl were you wanted it, but the TSL was pretty good without such hassel. What are the tranny diff. in these amps stock? and what's your opinion on tone and tube compliments for these amps?

If I was trying to get one of these amps ready for me, I would want to be in the stock single channel 800 ballpark on the crunch, and 900 4100 on the cleans. I would probably prefer the TSL over the Dsl because of the 3 channels and power reduction mode.

I don't have a clue. I don't own a JVM. Might have to order a brand new one thru an authorized dealer.

Hey steelhorse, I need your help REALLY quick please!
I need to know where (online) I can get a JVM410H footswitch, and how much it would run. (Preferably new)

    Thanks!

I only see 2 and they're both 999.00. If you can find one for 800 that's a good price if its in good shape and comes with the footswitch.
