i think it just needs some retubing, coz my amp technician said the tubes are already really banged up, sadly though i havnt got the chance to get myself a set of preamp tubes, but i changed the power amp to a mesa boogie el34. it LOUDENS the sound, but in terms of distortion, it doesnt change much. the technician said i need to change the preamp tubes to really maximize the tone. since i havent got to change the preamp tubes, i just kicked in a zakk wylde overdrive in front of it... and i think it already provides enough gain for my taste. im still not satisfied though: the sound is too harsh.. not very smooth (not sure bcause of the amp itself or the speakers)

Hey dude. Can you tell me what happened to your Marshall DSL amp? was the problem fixed? I have the same problem. The lead 2 channels lacks gain/sustain which really shines through when i palm mute.

I'm overal reffering to your post: http://www.marshallforum.com/marshal...n-sustain.html

    thanks.
